How do I receive inventory correctly?

When receiving inventory orders, users may encounter difficulties if they try to use the order ID instead of the receiving order ID, or if they attempt to create a picking event for a receiving order. Understanding the correct process for receiving inventory is essential for smooth warehouse operations.

There are two recommended methods to start receiving inventory:

Method 1: Using the Order Dashboard (Recommended)

  1. Go to the Order Dashboard

  2. Filter by order type = receiving

  3. Locate your receiving order with "Reception Pending" status

  4. Click the menu icon (hamburger menu) next to the eye icon

  5. Click "Receive" in the popup to begin the receiving process

Method 2: Manual Entry

  1. Navigate to the receiving interface

  2. Enter the receiving order ID (not the order ID)

  3. Scan the UPC codes of the products being received

Important Note: The receiving order ID is different from the regular order ID. For example, order #3690 might have receiving order ID #24. You can find the receiving order ID in the order details page.

If you encounter scanning issues, verify that:

  • You are using the correct UPC code from the product page

  • You are in the receiving interface and not the picking interface

  • You have entered the correct receiving order ID
